Great riding weather in Southern California
Bill Muneio | November 6, 2009The weather lately has been great for riding as it usually is in October and November in Southern California. I decided to head up to the mountains behind Santa Barbara for a little ride today. The Figueroa Mountain recreation area lies approximately 50 miles northwest of Santa Barbara and can be reached by Figueroa Mountain Road or Happy Canyon Road. I did a loop going up Happy Canyon over the summit and then down Figueroa Mountain Road. Along the way I took a short detour back to Davey Brown and Nira Campgrounds. It had been awhile since the last time I was there but not much has changed still as beautiful as ever back there and right now the campgrounds are empty. Probably getting a little cold at night but that also means there’s no flysduring the day! It was a great ride I enjoyed every minute of the crisp fall temps and the clear blue skys.
